Paloma Productions is a Copenhagen-based boutique film production company founded in 2019 by producers Julie Friis Walenciak and Per Damgaard Hansen who previously produced such titles as WINTER BROTHERS (Locarno IFF, 2017), THE RETURN (Rotterdam IFF, 2018) and NEON HEART (San Sebastián IFF, 2018).

The first title to come out of Paloma Productions was Eva Marie Rødbro’s feature doc I LOVE YOU I MISS YOU I HOPE I SEE YOU BEFORE I DIE (2019) which premiered at IDFA in First Appearance Competition.

Since then other Paloma titles have seen the light of day: feature film THE BLUE ORCHID (Austin Film Festival, 2020) by Carl Marott, feature doc SHOW DANCER (CPH:DOX, 2020) by Laurits Flensted-Jensen and tv-series PONYLOVE (CPH:DOX, 2022) by Eva Marie Rødbro. In 2022 Per Damgaard Hansen also co-produced Ruben Östlund’s Palme D’Or-winner and Oscar-nominated, TRIANGLE OF SADNESS.

Meanwhile, Paloma’s first co-production with Mexico, TÓTEM by Lila Avilés, had its World Premiere at the Berlinale Main Competition, where it won the Ecumenical Award. Paloma’s latest Co-Production, CLUB ZERO by Jessica Hausner, had its World Premiere in Cannes, as part of the Official Selection’s Main Competition.

Upcoming feature films count Jeppe Rønde’s ACTS OF LOVE (in post-production) and Simon Staho’s THE STRANGER (in post-production).

Besides this, we have projects in development with directors such as Andrea Storm Henriksen, Carl Marott, Emma Rosenzweig, Eva Marie Rødbro, John Skoog, Laurits Flensted-Jensen, Emil Langballe, Marina Vorobyeva, Thinh Nguyen and Michael Madsen.

The editorial line of Paloma Productions sets itself organically by our Producers’ aim to collaborate with vibrant and daring artistic voices, both in the quest for stylistically refreshing projects and through a passion for reflecting upon political and social issues of the world today. In developing a sense of cohesion within Paloma’s slate, we make sure to make space for both experienced and up-and-coming filmmakers. This, we believe, brings balance and freshness to our team, and allows us to contribute to the inclusion of more diverse voices in the overall panorama of our industry.
